Here’s a quick guide on how to get the most out of Singapore in a 3 day visit.
Day 1:
To truly experience the culture of the island, you’ve got to drive down to Chinatown. It may be called Chinatown but it’s the perfect example of how various cultures meld into one; Chinatown has got everything from mosques to pagodas. It’s a hub of ethnic neighborhoods that represent all of Singapore’s cultural influences.
Once you’re done being amazed by all that Chinatown holds, head down to Kreta Ayer’s Food Street or one of the new restaurants in Telok Ayer for a delicious lunch.
After lunch go to Singapore’s famous Orchard Road. Orchard Road is the ultimate shopping destination in Singapore. It’s lined with shopping malls featuring big multinational brands. Shop until you drop and then make your way to a café for a quick meal.
Singapore’s nightlife is in full swing after the sun goes down. Visit Southeast Asia’s only Night Safari. The Night Safari allows visitors to sit in a tram and see over 120 different species – including a majestic white tiger! The park consists of seven geographical zones so it will take you most of the night to see everything.
Day 2:
Start Day 2 by visiting Singapore’s government estates like the Parliament House, the Supreme Court and City Hall. Then drive down to one of Singapore’s most famous landmarks, Merlian Park and its Merlion Statue. The Merlion Statue is considered a mascot of Singapore, it was built by the Singapore Tourism Board.
For your next stop, drive down to Marina Bay, a long promenade with an art gallery, sheltered beaches and an abundance of activities for all age groups. From a 4D theatre to a dolphin lagoon, there’s so much to do and see in Marina Bay.
Later, take a tour of the lovely Sentosa Island.
Day 3:
If you love the movies then Universal Studios in Sentosa Island is a tourist spot that you absolutely have to visit. It’s the only Hollywood theme park in Asia that offers an experience to its US counterpart.
Hop on exhilarating Hollywood theme roller-coasters and meet your favorite movie characters. When you’re done with the rides, stroll down Hollywood Boulevard and indulge in ethnic cuisines. Universal Studios is so big that it should take you the whole day.
In case you happen to have some energy left, you can drive down to the Gardens by the Bay and take photos with the gorgeous lit-up, 50m tall trees!
